I couldn’t help but share this one for y’all. We here in the US who are learning the US Soccer Refereeing Way under stand the importance of fitness. Match Fitness is key to being in the right place to have the best view. If we push ourselves physically throughout the match we need to make sure we also take some recovery time. I’m sharing a few of my a favorite ways to keep my mobility, especially as I age.
How do we train to run as a referee? Is it like a marathon runner? Is it like a sprinter? Is their a way to train in the gym for the referee movements? Over the past few years FIFA and US Soccer have changed the way they conduct fitness testing. Instead of runnig on the track we now run on fields. There are a few different programs I’ve been looking into in order to change my training program.
