Hey there I wanted to plant a little seed as our off season training takes hold to see where you see yourself in your understanding of yourself. While we may not all agree on the best way to develop into community/grass roots player for our school team, the game still can be the best teacher when it is designed to give real life experiences during the run of play. Where do you see you own understanding of the of the key qualities of being a player? Where do you want to improve your mastery of the player skills and actions on the field?
Our winter training, winter tournaments and you training on your own should be focusing on improving your key player qualities.
- Do you read the game? Do you understand the game? Can you make the right decisions on your own with the cues of your teammates?
- Do you take initiative? Do you know when to challenge your opponents? Do you react or do you know when to create an opportunity?
- Do you come every day focused to win? Take on challenges? Remain cool, calm and collected even when things don’t go as planned?
- Are you comfortable with the ball? Do you know when to shoot, pass, dribble? Are you always thinking triple threat or do you just want to get rid of the ball as soon as you receive it?
- Do you execute to the best of you physical strength, speed and skill?
- Are you accountable for your own development and your role within the team? Do you ask for help? Are you engaged every time you step on the field?
